Harriet Lamb
Harriet is a passionate and experienced leader of organisations working for environmental and social justice. In the UK and globally, she built Fairtrade – a certification scheme working with producers in the developing world as well as thousands of companies and retailers, engaging the public and fostering a grassroots social movement. In March 2023, Harriet became CEO of WRAP, a global environmental action NGO, with an ambitious vision to scale its impact in the UK and internationally, working with food and drink, textiles and packaging companies to reduce waste, carbon & water footprints – and to promote circular living. WRAP convenes the UK Food and Drink Pact, a pioneering effort by 170 major food businesses, NGOs and the public sector in the United Kingdom, to reduce food and packaging waste, and runs the Love Food Hate Waste Campaign to help citizens reduce food waste at home.   • Manufacturers by 34%
  • Reduce food waste by nearly 1 million tonnes per year.
WRAP has initiated and supports food waste voluntary agreements in Mexico, Indonesia, South Africa, Australia, the EU, Brazil and the USA. In the EU the International  Food Waste Coalition has helped hospitality and food service companies reduce food waste by 25% at nearly 4000 sites and in the US, participating retailers have reduced food waste by 28%. In addition, WRAP supports citizen behaviour change initiatives in 10 countries around the world.
Harriet has also led Ashden, which promotes climate solutions, and peacebuilding organisation International Alert. She worked in the UK on refugee and low-pay issues and lived in India for six years. 
 
Harriet has won several awards including a CBE, Orange Businesswoman of the Year, and Cosmopolitan EcoQueen. She was the first woman Honorary Fellow of Trinity Hall, Cambridge, is an experienced trustee and has published two books on social and environmental movements for change.
